200!!!

I reached it! and over 2750 comments…
Since more than 1 week, i have been testing, updating my wordpress, customizing a theme, everything on my local machine at home.

Now, that the 200th post is reached, i have uploaded everything to my domain

Wordpress 2.5 is Great! Simply great!

Except its admin panel, but that can be modified using themes…

This post was initially destined to contain a new soundtrack, from the TV Serial Monk.

But while looking for more info on Monk, i found out that Wikipedia.org was not accessible!

Not even the english version at http://en.wikipedia.org/I tried to ping, but damn it, my command prompt is now working lol !So, i tried to access if from an anonymous proxy ( http://www.hidemyass.com) and the page got loaded

I did not really wanted to hide my ass but only browse using a proxy to check if the site was accessible.

I asked about 5-10 friends to try the link, only one using myT could, and CarrotMadman06 carrotmadman6 who uses ADSL could too… He told me that he too got different complaints that Wikipedia was not opening…

I just called myT (lol! i spent 10mins looking for the myT customer care number since i called them only twice since more than 8months!!!)
I finally got the num from their web site!

I seized the opportunity to ask my internet login and password since i forgot that as well ! haha!

So, after explaining the problem to the customer care agent, and was put on hold for a few mins, he/she(i didnt know if he was a she or she was a he), told me to switch off my livebox and restart it after 5min, as well as the computer before trying again.

Now, am gonna restart and if it doesnt load, i will post this article…

Even if it loads, i will post it too!

But at least, this is the 2nd problem i reported to the customer care since september 2007 i think!

Wow, they are good (for me, everyone have their own internet usage and problems)

Unexpected call !

In the evening today, i got a call from Nomad from Mr A.V.First of all he presented himself as the person in charge of communications and said that he wanted to discuss about the articles on my blog related to Nomad…

He politely stated that I had the rights to express my views on Nomad since we live in a democracy but however Nomad has improved a lot, especially since the advert “New Improved Nomad”.

Together with the marketing manager, he wanted to meet me so that they can discuss about the issues related to Nomad.

A year ago(April 2007), I had another meeting with the Nomad director of that time.

He was very friendly and we discussed about the issues i reported. The outcome was positive as he had well exposed the problems his company faced. Lets hope that this time, the result of this meeting will be beneficial for all of the users of nomad….

I totally agreed with this meeting with Nomad since it would be a nice opportunity for them

1. To show that their product has improved a lot.
2. To move forward the factors which did not enable them to provide such a ‘better service’ earlier.
3. To show their progress in this field
4. To explain how they manage to give a ‘better service’ now
5. & perhaps to conduct a survey to see if really, they have reached the expectation of their customers and why do they STILL have unhappy users, looking for a platform to discuss.

It is important to note that my blog is such a platform which allows users to express their views, bad/good experience and unhappiness regarding to their subscription to this product.

Nomad has definitely been and is still an advantage to many users, specially students who can’t yet afford an adsl/high reliable internet connection at their place.

But the questions that we must ask ourselves:

Does paying less means that we have to encounter speed/connection problems,billing issues, among others?

As told to me by Mr A.V, it may be true that Nomad has really changed, but why do people still complain about their speed/connection problems?

Any specific questions/issues you want be to discuss with them on your behalf?

Hoping that this meeting will be able to move things a bit and clearing up issues that has been solved meanwhile, and why not study the particular cases of the subscribers?

Being short of ideas for an interesting post, i have decided to write about 3 pages of my life from Friday to Sunday(today).

The last Friday (20.06.08), i had taken one day off to visit a friend of mine, Vinay.G, an old friend of mine, during the college days.
We hadnt met since 4 years since he is living in England nowadays, after having completed his studies there itself…

More 2 hrs in the bus from Triolet to Chemin Grenier, was pretty tiresome!

Then we talked for nearly 3 hrs before i left again for the long journey back home!

Once at home, i took a back and set out for Port Louis with my sis,where i met some colleagues of mine. We took a quick dinner at Roti Aka before leaving for The Suffren…

A quick chat there with some friends, and a few mins later, we moved to Shooters, taking some drinks with the usual blabla for hours…

Around 11pm, we left Shooters and again to Suffren, where we met other friends…

Back in the car, the rest of the journey was marked by the “anou met dialog dan loto” of Varsha, and we laughed a lot!

I dropped Rama to his place in Curepipe, then Nisha and Dhaneesha in Palma, 4bornes…

Now the weekend….

Nothing great, i was home, shivering from the cold with flu, cough and my nose running :S

I spent nearly all my time, trying wordpress 2.5.1 on my machine, trying a new theme and plugins which i will be putting online on my 200th posts, this one being the 196th one!!!

I also took a look at the number of friends i have on facebook!

I just reached 500 Friends on facebook!!!

and out of those 500, i know only about 200 personally….the rest being friends i added earlier, and lots of requests which i accepted!

I just got back home from my cousin’s place, Vasheel who will be flying to Australia tomorrow for his studies, Good Luck Dear!

I was blogging another event, the Fancy Fair at Saint Joseph’s College today, but there was an unexpected incident on Orange Sitara, which was live on TV and i was just next to the tv set, so i immediately took my mob and started to take pics and record some mins of video…

One of the participant scored less marks than the others, and was pushed into the “Danger Zone” as they call it there.The Danger Zone generally has 2-3 participants every week and the one who gets (begs) the larger number of votes from the general public through sms voting, is the one who wins and is allowed to continue with the competition, the others simply get eliminated.

Tonight, on the announcement of the results, 1 person of the audience, i think its one of the supporters of the participant who got into the danger zone(not sure) was not happy by the decision of the jury.

He got up and started to protest.

The mbc was quite professional on that part haha, they even filmed some secs of that scene, and later they switched the camera to some other angle…

Then the presentator started talking, saying its the LIVE and not everyone will be happy blablabla…

When it was the turn of the 3 participants to ask for the public to vote for them, One guy said something which meant the following (sorry but i dont remember the exact words);

It would be nice if the jury could tell him what was his errors and please sing the song in the correct way!

Some of the audience immediately started to clap hands and the members of the jury were quite ‘annoyed’.

Later when one of the 3mentors spoke, he gently asked the jury to comment why the boy was put into danger zone…

Then the jury (to the left) took the microphone and explained, blabla, then the lady( to the right ) took the mike and made another blabla.

Its SURPRISING how the 3rd member of the jury had nothing to add, specially after his first speech on the first broadcast where he was very uncomfortable with the mike! Read a that post here regarding that broadcast and the other things which happenned!

And i have not talked about the loads of critisicm being broadcasted live on the screen through the sms sent by the viewers!Here is a part of the incident….

Today’s was held the Fancy Fair at Saint Joseph’s College, my ex-college..

I was there, together with Javin, Purahoo and others, and as usual

It was very nice to see some of the old friends and all of our teachers after nearly 5 years!

We played lots of game but won none, that was the fun!

However i was very disappointed by the “Chambre D’horreur” which i paid rs50 to enter and waited nearly 1hr in a queue!

The above “Chambre d’horreur” was DULL!

Nothing to fear, i didnt even saw anything because of the dark, i only saw some of the organisers to walk with their torch saying “[pardon pardon, laisse passer]”

Except that part of the day, i was very happy to be back to my college after all those years and together with my friends, we talked about the old days, when we were studying there…
