Hello,Ki dir?

More than 1 week already, “orange p vender partout”, but still, no response from the competitors, at least, nothing extraordinary in their business strategy from namely,

  • Nomad
  • Emtel
  • MTML
  • DCL

Except a small thing from Emtel, you can now epin ur mobile with only rs20, instead of rs25.

I tried to access Nomad’s portal, but a big “Under Construction” Notice is there, dont know since when, lets hope its something really BIG for the few users still hanging out with their rabbit.c

DCL Communications seems dormant since, euh, a long time, very long indeed!

As for MTML, its “Azu wireless broadband internet” is available since some weeks back but till now, there havent been any marketing done to attract potential customers, perhaps because they are not ready yet to handle many users and hence face the same problem which nomad faced with thousands(?) of ppl connected and the system breaking down day after day….really bad reputation they have here in Mauritius! lol

Internet, Mobile, everything is being controlled by Orange, offering several offers ( mobile packs etc etc ) + innovations (new portal, magic numbers, etc etc) since its launch.

Will they be able to compete with the big multinational company orange?

Sure, the mauritian blog community and myself will be here to keep you updated about the events in our cyber island ( lol, cyber! )

    What’s that? 8-)

    I’ve never heard the word “competitor” before in the Internet sector in Mauritius…

    The only word i’ve heard is something to do with a board game where you need to buy/sell… can’t remember the exact name… but i know it ends in -poly… *-)

    Banne saki zouer unreal tournament 3 ek rainbow six vegas 2 online, vinne zouer arre moi!!!

    nomad ine gagne clients.. coz so bannes prix bon marC.. apart sa pas croire ena dimoune ki willingly to stay with nomad.. to mem to ena experience ek nomad lol

    DCL et sipa combien couma li enkor.. ena mem laposte.. lol sa banla acoz MTelecom toulestemps ti proteG par government et ICTA zotte pas ine cpave compete et actually ine bizin withdraw..

    MTML sipoZe ti messiah nou ti pe atan.. mais finalment poor service so reseau fine fer li degouT par boucou dimoune.. till now mo pas ine gagne feedback lor so broadband la selment.. maybe line catchup..

    bein finalment letemps to geutte tousa ISP la.. pena personne ki vraiment ene competition pou MyT ou Orange.. and its SAD

    a cyberisland with basically only one ISP, dakor government ine fer ene tas palab or democratization mais lol.. mais C ziste pou dire sa..

    anyway mo premier l’impression lor orange bomme.. they suck!! mo pas vraiment dakor ek zotte fairness policy.. et surtout facon zotte ine applik li la.. ti bizin ena ene baisse des prix!!! enfin pas cpave fer narnien ousi coz to pena lotte bon alternative ousi..

    capave rentrer lor nomadlive pou mane dimoune ki servi nomad. pou sa ki servi les autres isp zot pas capave rentrer

    ena 1 tas dimoune pe gagne problem pou servi internet avec so login

    MTML- mo servi ek mo satisfait avec connection. So Azu li pou cooperate customers ek dimoune ki ena boucoup cas ki marche avec laptop (PCMCIA)

    unlimited-2.4 Mbps- environ Rs 2100

    so dial up mo gagne 1 speed de 150 kbps- li bon non

    pou broadband home user bizin atan zot check reseau pou ki pas gagne problems ek bizin pass command wireless pci card ek usb

    MTML li pas trop faire pub lor tv ou radio etc.
    li avoye lettre so mane offres ek promotions mane dimoune ki deja servi mtml

    hey since cellplus ine vin orange,i cnt use internet on my mob!!!!! :'( snif snif!! mo ena windows mobile mw,alr i dnt need to use wap but can directly use the internet. giv me back my internet!!!

    i meant will emtel, dcl, nomad be able to deal with Orange, the latter which is a big multinational company

    as for dcl adsl, till now, i never heard anyone using it. dont know if it has a usage policy, or any other restrictions

    to armand(again):
    i think u r referring to amishi’s comment. she used to connect to messenger using her prepaid cellplus, as i stated above.

    pa blier ki orange or (ex cellplus) is government controlled whereas the others are independent …. bizin dir encore ousa zot in comprend ki competitors malgrer envie fer kitchose pa fouti.
    pa blier alle meeting 1er may.

    La honte. Nomad propose toujours Opera 9.21 dans sa section “downloads”. Sinon, je pense que les prix des “non-orange” ne sont pas du tout compétitifs. C’est le cas de le dire pour Emtel Ltd qui propose un modem USB qui est disponible à plus de MRP5000. Je crois que les mauriciens vont devoir s’agripper avec des services tels que MYT ou encore Nomad. C’est bien dommage.

    NOMAD, is the only ISP with no Usage Policy since u will never reach 1gb download with that poor connection lol!:o

    faire moi gagne directeur nomad so mobile no. mo telephone li mo aussi. deja gagne problem speed ek connection aster zot pe 1 login page cot pe logoff chaque 60 mins.

    mo telephone cc nomad zot pas faire nanier. avoye zot lettre pas gagne reply emplus zot ena toupé faire pub lor new improved nomad

    pane paye bill nanier pou lor mois. mone plein ar sa nomad la.

    ena 1 lot zafaire ki nomad in faire. zot conner ki ena just 3 mois pou suspendre 1 connection. Apres 3 mois soit nomad reconnect soit li disconnect permanently. pas pou capave servi sa modem la si li disconnect permanently. bizin faire 1 new subscription ek acheter 1 lot modem.

    si zot pas les servi nomad bizin vendre modem 1 lot dimoune ou bien bizin jette modem la dans poubelle apres 3 mois

    zot pou trouve lapin certifier nomad dans bazar bientot
    “prend zot lapin pou Rs2999+vat stock bizin fini jordi meme

    Pour confirmer et renforcer les propos de Kunal: “lol moris encore loin, mari loin…”…(je rajouterai pour un “cyber island”)

    Je suis sur une connexion Fibré à 100Mb/s dnwl (bon, ok à 94,7Mb/s en général!) et 5Mb/s upwl (environ 4,2Mb/s) avec inclus: tv (HD), tél illimité (45pays) et plein d’autres services(WIFI Mimo, CPL, mediacenter, tv sur pc, stockage en ligne, etc…) gratuit pour l’équivalent approx. en roupies de 1,275/mois! Qui osera dire mieux. (http://www.numericable.fr/offre/fibre_optique.php)

    ah, oui et au passage: ORANGE ce n’est pas si bien qu’on peut le penser. Ils sont là pour faire du fric et rien d’autre, à titre d’exemple leur filiale R&D dénommé Orange LABS est à la traine avec leur “collection printemps/été 2008″…soit déjà appliqué en FR ou dans d’autres pays pour chacun de leur “nouveaux” produits… (http://www.laborange.fr/ ou http://orange-innovation.tv/home/index.php)

    by saying this above in the post, wanted to mean, will the mauritian isp or other service providers able to compete with the big orange, which is a multinational company.
