Our PM dancing a sega at Le Morne

Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, News, Television August 10th, 2008

Note : This post is not meant to be funny, but just to show that, our Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, is a mauritian just like any of us, and he did not hesitate to dance a sega live, at Le Morne during a cultural show following the inclusion of Le Morne in the UNESCO World Heritage List..

Read the official communique from the Govt Online Portal on the incusion of Le Morne…
This is the 2nd site of Mauritius in this list, the first being the Aappravasi Ghat, Port Louis…

To celebrate this ‘victory’ of Mauritius, a show was organised today (10th August 2008), which started by an official ceremony, followed by the show, hosted by Linzy Bacbotte.

At one instance, the prime minister was getting ready to leave Le Morne, and Linzy Bacbotte said:

“Hey monsieur premier ministre, kotte ou p aller?”

lol, she got down from the stage, ran towards the prime minister with her mike!

She kindy asked the prime minister to dance a sega, after which the Prime Minister, the Minister of Arts and Culture Mahen Gowreesoo, the Chairperson of the “Le Morne Trust Fund” and herself went back to the stage where all of them danced on a sega, sang live by Serge Lebrasse…

I dont think that you will be able to view this part of the event on the national television MBC, so, just in case, here is it, recorded with my mobile…(and with comments from mum, sister who didnt know that i was shooting that video)

Any ridiculous comments will be deleted… Thanks…

Chak De Bachche!

Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, Television August 3rd, 2008

Today, while Orange Sitara is on live broadcast on MBC1 just right now,  I am gonna talk on Chak De Bachche, pronounced as “Chak De Bachche” lol…

Chak De Bachche is an Indian Television children’s singing and dancing competition.

The show got started on March 28, 2008 on 9X Entertainment Television channel. It was hosted by Roshni Chopra, an Indian Television actress and Manoj Tiwari, a Bhojpuri singer and actor.

24 Kids (12 from big towns and 12 from small towns) aged between 8 to 14 have been selected from every nook and corner of the country. 6 pairs of kids from small towns will be pitted against 6 pairs from big towns.

These two teams will be led by their mentors, who will guide them, then will fight for supremacy.

Excellent hosts!

Professional Jury Panel

lol, and they have professionals as jury members who do not hesitate to sing to show the errors and correct them!

LOL! I didnt watch Orange Sitara today, since I am blogging right now!
Wowwwwwwwwww!

How do you find this real tv show?

Lets not try to compare the Orange Sitara ‘competition’ of Ambernath Mossae…

Orange Sitara goes even further…

About Me, Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, Orange, Television July 20th, 2008

Most of us complained a lot of times that Orange Sitara was completely copied from other international famous dance/singing competition…

Well, seems they tried to be original, for once….

Since some weeks they brought a new concept into the competion….

They made the participants sing, dance and even the mentors had to perform live…

And one of them thought:

Why dont we make the musicians sing???

Well, that was a completely foolish idea… at least for me…

Since some weeks, the musicians have been performing live, practically most of them, from the electronic keyboard player, the guitarist to the tabla player (technically known as a tabalti)

The story does not stop here!!!

They have even introduced another extra into this concept:

Why not make the viewers vote for the musicians???

LOL ! Who will want to spend rs10 per sms to vote for them (except the family members and friends of course)…

Surtout dans ene lepok kot p serre ceinture and petrol p monter lol…

No need to tell you how “fabulous” those musicians perform, LIVE !
Hoever, not applicable to all, but still !

Something perhaps the organisers (mbc) might find informative to know, musicians are made to play musical instruments and not all of them know really how to sing, ya, they do sing, but not all of them are  good enough to sing LIVE on a national television channel…

I am was a musician too, some years back, ya lol, i was a tabalti (tabla n dholok player) in religions ceremonies (ya lol! believe it or not, i played in kirtans and bhajans, despite i never believed in god!) lol…
I also play electronic keyboard, but nowadays, i rarely have the time to spend some time playing music, since am blogging lol…
My Dad, and uncle too are musicians, and at times, they even sang & played instruments in weddings, hotels etc, as a hobby/leisure of course!

We are not big singers/musicians(not me definitely), but i dont go live onto tv to show that i can sing when i dont know how to!

However, there are not many musicians who can play their instruments and sing at the same time, except of course, famous superstars singers which Orange Sitara wants to build here in Mauritius it seems lol…

lol, just before blogging, Vicky was telling me that “to ene fan orange sitara twa”.
In fact ya, but not exactly, as i like to watch their show because of their originality, stupidity(sometimes and often lol), copying of international ideas/concepts, importance they give to certain persons,  quality of tv platforms they offer here in Mauritius to promote new talents…

For sure, they do make the best SHOW on tv lol !

So, how do you find this innovative and orginal concept brought forward on our “petit ecran” these days???

wikipedia-firefox1.JPG

Not even the english version at http://en.wikipedia.org/I tried to ping, but damn it, my command prompt is now working lol !So, i tried to access if from an anonymous proxy ( http://www.hidemyass.com) and the page got loaded :D
wikipedia-anonymous-proxy.JPG

I did not really wanted to hide my ass but only browse using a proxy to check if the site was accessible.

I asked about 5-10 friends to try the link, only one using myT could, and CarrotMadman06 carrotmadman6 who uses ADSL could too… He told me that he too got different complaints that Wikipedia was not opening…

I just called myT (lol! i spent 10mins looking for the myT customer care number since i called them only twice since more than 8months!!!)
I finally got the num from their web site!
mytnumber.JPG

I seized the opportunity to ask my internet login and password since i forgot that as well ! haha!

So, after explaining the problem to the customer care agent, and was put on hold for a few mins, he/she(i didnt know if he was a she or she was a he), told me to switch off my livebox and restart it after 5min, as well as the computer before trying again.

Now, am gonna restart and if it doesnt load, i will post this article…

Even if it loads, i will post it too!

But at least, this is the 2nd problem i reported to the customer care since september 2007 i think!

Wow, they are good (for me, everyone have their own internet usage and problems)

LOL !

The results after a restart of livebox/computer after 5 mins:

Page cannot be found! Wikipedia still not accessible!
