- This Nomad Technician was sent to my house after making request some 2 weeks before
- Since i changed my modem one week before, i stopped having problems
- The technician found there was no problems n seemed angry since he had to come to my place uselessly.
- He told me this in a rude way “B pena probleme dan connection”
- I replied to him that it was not my fault since i complained 2 weeks before and its now that his company sent him.
- When i told him earlier that a technician A…(a friend of mine) came and solved some of my problems before, he called him as “La monnaie Zetter sa”
- and before going away, he told me sarcastically : “faire compliments to camarade”
- I reported him to my friend who further reported him to the ones above him
Now this technician is creating a issue out of my blog because i cited his behavior
I have no right? WTF???
its my blog and i have the right to write what i think, especially when it concerns me!
“Rode la gratelle r zotte tous, mais pas r mwa!”
Btw, since i guess lot of nomad staff would be reading this,
Nomad Owes me Rs1264 since December 2006 due to a billing error, am
still waiting for the cheque and my file is still in billing depart
since February…please, do the necessary.
a big hi to all those who know me and u would be happy to know that i dont have much problems anymore since some time
I really admire their work sometimes
i dont like it when other people seeking personal revenge include me in their drama, just because i wrote the truth about them.
nomadlife Newsletter, my edition….
About Me, Academics, Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Nomad, Technology March 11th, 2007
lol, i think that i will also make my own newsletter ![]()
i cant live without nomad…am sure a lot of you have understood this…
so, nomadlife newsletter is at its 2nd issue and its second logo..
i think they are planning to change their logo monthly
according to the interview of the CEO of Navini Networks,
WiMax (the technology which nomad uses) is THE technology [...]

Sure, i dont deny this bcoz it works (perfectly well, i suppose) in over 50 commercial networks in the 6 continents.
BUT i dont think that the strategy nomad is using here is working to the expectation of their customers (unsatisfied?) and bounded to 1 yr contract.
Another truc which attacted my attraction, lol,
was on the nomad portal…
Their servers are fast, no doubt
bcoz they work even when u got no connection to any other sites
since they are local & directly on same network as nomad users
ya, for those who dont want to spend their money paying Mauritius Telecom for the endless minutes, waiting for the customer care ( i do salute some of their staff), try to use Nomad Assistant.
“Seems” it solves some of your problems

Some days back, i finally got a visit from a nomad technician(D…..), who was supposed to come about 2 weeks before!
- He came at home
- Found no problems (since i changed my modem)
- Told me that i should have reported that i got no more problems
- “mone rince li akoz li siposer come 2 weeks before!“
- in addition to that, he dared to treat another nomad techician (A…,a friend of mine) as “la monnaie zetter”.
I immediately reported him!
affaire a suivre - he went away nearly in anger, n
- told me “politely” to “faire compliments to camarade”
another step which nomad made forward(?) is the upgrade of their forum, some days back it seems and ‘par hasard’, i was passing by…

the admins there didnt find it useful to link the old topics to the new forum,
perhaps because they were all saturated with problems faced by nomad?
lets hope our posts do not dissapear after moderation, at least they cant moderate my post here
Gifts!
Watch Out, nomad is giving away gifts in its newsletter!!!!
- nomad pendrive

- nomad photo frame

- pictures obtained from the “monthly issue” sent to me every month :P, so i think i can publish them wiz no problems koz i am paying for getting them!
Hope the customer care will be able to solve the problems faces with those pen drives and photo frames, haha…
Did u liked my first newsletter ? ![]()
Nomad, a perfect gift?
Articles, General, Nomad, Web January 13th, 2007
Nomad was mad again for 2 whole days & the technicians themselves took a long time to locate the source of the problem.
But i wish to thank some of the customer care agents who have become very friendly wiz me, something normal since i call them at least 5 times daily!
i have become the “zenfant lakaaz” of nomad!
Impossible to connect to the internet on 11 & 12 Jan for the whole day & night.
On 7 & 8, frequent disconnections !
On 10, no connection for 1/2 day, then at 23hrs n then at 0100hrs
On 11, one of their antennas(BTS) was down for half day!
When i call the customer care, am no more a burden for them since i already inform them that none of their solutions wont work and its of no use to ask me to do them again.
i just tell them : “kouma dir ena problem r zotte nomad”
answer : “wi effectivement, ena ene probleme, essaye connecter pli tard”
or even, many times i had to call to inform them that their antenna in triolet has stopped working and some of them are “latete piker” & dont accept…
its only after some mins, they call me back:
“mr awootar, effectivement, ou ena raison, sa antenne (BTS) triolet la li en panne, nu bane technicians p essaye repare li”
Here is a screen shot of the speed test i fortunately succeeded to carry out on the 11…
a surprisingly extraordinary result of 1KB/s when am supposed to get 13-15KB/s

hmm, i think that i am a bit late to post about the following things :
- A perfect gift??? rather a headache?

- The wireless free mouse given to the first 500 customers.
lol, nomad does not consider itself unfortunate enough to be overloaded with so many problems regarding their wireless modems and now they want to add another problem source with their wireless mouse!
hmm, i really think that nomad should change their moto from
“high speed reliable internet access”to
“unreliable internet access with low speed & high probability problems”
Has any of you tried to download the internet?
{check out picture below}
or even for the ADSL users who are bearing the consequences of the earthquake…
Many of you are still complaining about the slow internet…
but this doesn’t seem to be a problem with nomad as its always on “Slow mode“
Nomad, bye bye 64kbps modem
Fun, General, Nomad, Web December 10th, 2006
1 yr
More than 1 year with that fucking “64″ kbps nomad…
tomorrow gonna return that modem shit to one of those stands where am sure, they will be surprised & “bouche-bée” at its state!

I had been using it for less than 1 yr since my cousin next-door used it for some time since she was in hols.
here wiz the “sindoor” and the chain

Well, some interesting facts about this modem
- It fell from the top of a door (abt 2 m high)
- It went to several weather conditions (sun & rain, dommage, pena la neige ici )

- Its Black & White screen is broken since months!

- It has a rs2000 deposit fee which i dont think that i will get back because of the broken screen and the condition it is…
- Anyway, no one will be able to use that since its only good for the bin now!
my nomad tshirt when returning that shit!
Will let u know what will happen on that stand tomorrow
btw, still got a 128kbps modem n that one, am gonna end the contract soon…

Wearing My Nomad t-shirt in Infotech
About Me, Blogging, Fun, General, Nomad, Web November 17th, 2006
Today, i was to the Infotech 2006…

lol, nothing interesting there as usual !

except perhaps me, who was trying to make some fun out of nomad with my t-shirt!

not really fun, koz i was promoting nomad..haha, in my own way.
The Nomad agents were very friendly koz most of them were from uni & i knew some of them. They could not tell me anything, btw, what could they have told me? lol
They just admired that new design on the tshirt…
as from now, if the tshirt doesnt get spoilt while in the washing machine, i will put it quite often to show how i luv nomad

Apart from nomad, the hostesses of Emtel Stand were too good and that BMW in the Nokia Stand was superb except the large amount of dust on it.
btw, did u know y it was there? Well, to promote the use and sale of Mobile Kits while driving!
and the other stand were, not great…
& to those who think am mad to do this, perhaps yes koz nomad made me like zat…
At least i got the guts to do this…
N u did what???
Any comments about Nomad or Infotech 2006???
lol, this time, the nomad is for another classmate, Yogesh!
this nomad is in a 5 star hotel, lol
(hey yogesh, paint sa boite la kant meme! imper respect to the
High Speed internet without wires!!!)
check it out!!!

All these, to show u how reliable nomad is…
thanks nomad !!!
ps: if u have ur modem in same conditions, do send me a picture!
well, my nomad gallery series continue…
This time, an exclusivity!
well, its the modem of my x-classmate, Kunal, a real pro in inventing things, doing great animations with his maya software and much more…
without forgetting his special speaking style with a lots of “f***” words..
well, here is his funny modem!

Funnier than mine !!! tire sapo r sa piti la!
U can have a look at mine here..
some quick facts :
- His modem is installed on the roof (2nd floor)
- Security : a simple ‘cadenas!’ lol !
- Cables : a 30 m LAN cable together with its power cable
- Connection : depends upon probability and cloud coverage

I will soon put new pics of my 2nd nomad, yah
Just before i return it at the end of the 1 yr contract…
Sure, it will be memorable since it is in a “condition pitoyable!!!”

HD Failure & Power Of Kubuntu
Articles, Blogging, General, Nomad, Technology October 27th, 2006
really one of the worst things that can happen to me!
my hard disk has crashed!
reason? well, its due to lack of care, but not from mine!
no hard disk, no windows, then how am blogging???
thats the power of Kubuntu Live

despite the hard disk being out of my laptop, with the Kubuntu Live CD you can run the Operating system and do anything u want…
blogging for instance or chat, word processing, everything u want…
but it takes a little more time to load since everything is stored in ur RAM Memory…
better wait for some mins than having to go to bed without my internet!
well, below is a screenshot of kubuntu…

try it someday, it may become useful when ur hard disk crashes.
One of the rare advantages of Nomad is that it works in Kubuntu without any need for configuration, lol, i dont know how to do any configuration in Kubuntu..well, only the basic ones.
well, leave u here…
anyone with a spare laptop hard disk is welcomed ![]()
am gonna buy the new one on monday i think…
cya
Nomad in Pozition
General, Nomad, Technology, Web October 11th, 2006
Well, i finally found a good place to position my modem so that it gets signal from the antenna found 1 km from my place…
here is how i had to proceed…
- Place the modem temporarily without fixing wires so as to check where is the best place

- Phone customer care and politely ask them to fix my modem to the antenna of triolet, with no other antennas in their priority list..so if ever the antenna of triolet breaks down, my internet will be KO !
- Once the best place found, fix the wires along the walls from my study room to my room’s window where i fixed the modem with all kinds of rode for security measures

Well, after about 1 hr(!) i succeeded in my mission !
Now, am getting a good network coverage with full bandwidth availability…
but the question that remains is
FOR HOW LONG !!!
