Today am sick! at home…

No no no, i really mean it, am suffering from fever and lots of pain in the back, since yesterday.
Since yesterday morning, i have been at “atchouming” a lot and got some fever. I left office a bit early, at 5pm, ya thats early!
Then went to the doctor who prescribed some medicines and i guess he is a magician lol, he told me “to pu gagne douleurs dan to lecorps”. At that moment, i thought that there was no way to get it since i was only having fever…

After some hours, i got immense pain starting after a big atchoummmmmm! wow, that was hurting!
Today, i woke up and still high fever, so, i sent msn-ed Steeve, my colleague so that he can inform the others that i wont be coming…
Since i had a job to do for the HR today for the Parent’s Day coming soon, i started to look and prepare a Parent’s Day wishing card which will be sent to everyone in the office.
I came up with the following card, which i mailed to our HR…
In order to pass some time, I launched my Virtual DJ software after months!

After some hrs, i succeeded in making something quite pleasant to hear, without the boum boum which i like to make, lol.
Song Remixed : Kabhi Kabhi Adhiti Zindagi from the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Oops, just got a call from mum and she reminded me to take my medicines, n lol, i did forget to take them after my lunch, 2hrs late!!!!
Have a nice weekend dear Readers!
Special post!
Mum has been to Rodrigues for the last 2 weeks and on her return back here, she brought a “gato typik rodriguais” known as “Gato tourner”
lol, want to know y?
Check out the pics….

Ingredients: flour, yeast(”lelvin”), sugar and syrup.
How it is made?
Flour and yeast is mixed, allowed to rest for about 1 day and then it is turned (”tourner”) as shown in the pics, then finally sugar and syrup are added to give them this color….

Eugggggggghhhhh!!
Frankly speaking, at first sight, it looks like a piece of fresh meat, with blood all over it!

If u are sensitive/delicate, u can even vomit, so beware!
The taste?
Pas mal, its sweet because of the sugar and syrupt and has the taste of “Piaw”.
Good to taste but after eating 2 of them, lol, i dont want any now.
3 of them (above) are still in the fridge…
So, that was me, blogging another page of my life, when i tasted the “gato tourner” of Rodrigues Origin
Blackout! The day after tomorrow is here…
About Me, Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Work-Boulot May 14th, 2008
Bloooooppppp!
Electric Power cut at about 1145am, today!

Whole DCDM was in the dark and some mins after, we learned that Accenture was also without electricity, got confirmation from Mantasha n Yasmina…At first. i thought DCDMC didnt pay electricity bills.
But when i learn Accenture also, experienced this black out, then, i said to myself, Accenture didnt pay the bills and since DCDMC is managed by Accenture, then its gonna be normal.10mins afterwards, Vissen(my friend) told me that there was a blackout even in Moka(Euro CRM).
This turns out to be a bigger problem then, not only for Accenture and DCDMC.
Just then, Bernard (sitting next to me now) told me that there was an electric storm.
“Ekire mo nom si” says Vero at this second…
ya, i immediately looked for a picture of an electric storm on flickr, but damned it!
They blocked Flickr here!!! grrrr!
So, i googled and got the following picture while waiting for Bernard to send me the pics he shot yesterday evening.
Euh, didnt you or your company failed to pay electricity too? lol
In which region of the island were you???
Updated at 13hrs:
- All Colleges and schools have been closed down and even some companies…
- Electricity is back after 1 hr
- All roads in port louis are blocked, traffic jamThe day after tomorrow!!!
DCDMC Orienteering Challenge!
About Me, Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, Work-Boulot May 11th, 2008
Wow, that was fun but tiresome!

As every 3 months, DCDM Consulting organises a different Company Event for the staff, and this time, it was called “DCDMC Orienteering Challenge”, held at Domaine Anse Jonchee, near Ferney in the south-east.

Preparations have been going since long, with me sending mails to all staff to make them remember wats going to happen on this saturday 10th may 2008 and also remind them about practical things such as transport etc.
Each pick up point collected staff at 8am and all the vans reached the domaine at about 10hrs where 4×4 and jeeps took us to the Panoramour Restaurant.

Indeed warm welcome from Vertical World, which organised the logistics behind the challenge.

Oh yeah, i nearly forgot!
As a “mascotte” i had brought a Monkey Teddy, “Mr Zako”, those who ever travelled in my car surely knows Mr Zako, koz it hangs right behind the driver’s seat

Mr Zako, was quite a star on that day since no one thought of bringing anything + the teams names were different species of monkeys (picked from wikipedia).
Everyone was touching Mr Zako, admiring him (& his owner of course lol), even taking pics with him (not only me do! Zako la si ! haha!)
At one instance, i didnt realised that Mr Zako and my Cap fell somewhere :S
I had to go back and look for them, fortunately i remembered where i walked and found them somewhere near the first goyavas which i picked there to eat. Delicious!

Above the team No 01, Angwatibo!
At 1130hrs, the game started and each team was composed of 4-5 persons + had a map and other stuff to orientate ourself in the huge domaine and collect the maximum of beacons(flags) + solve riddles attached to each of them.

There were also 4 Red Challenges, in the “Fort Boyard” Style.
My team managed to win 2 of them

The above one was really tough and i managed to put down the guy! waaaaaaaa!
At the beginning of the game, my team members and myself had lost ourselfves but we managed to get onto the track and start collecting points.
Amazing things happened during the game, for example, deers running here and there, and quite close to us.

There was an open lunch from 12hrs to 1630 hrs and each of the teams had to organise themselved to be back to the restaurant to be able to take their lunch, at anytime they wished, or rather, at the time they managed to come back lol!
After the end of the challenge, there was a prize giving ceremony and beyond expectations, my team was ranked 6th lol, out of 14 teams. We really didnt expect that!
All of the teams received gifts ; those after the top 3, received, guess wat???
Banane! lol

and of course,the winning team:

After the prize giving, we had official photo sessions…
We were allowed to climb on the top of the jeeps to take pictures

We took really A LOTS OF PICTURES and that will take time to regroup all of them, but however, i have already uploaded pictures from my mobile and my 2nd camera.
More pictures to come in the near future on facebook and my web site photo gallery.
Click here for pictures taken using my mobile and camera
We really had a nice day,
- lots of fun, but tiresome
- lots of “boudouf” when we fell down here and there in the mud,
- lots of “hey kot nu eter la? check lo map!”
- “p gagne faim! kant nu pu ressi arrive enbas la?”
When’s the next???
The National Television is again in my post, they don’t even care for their image, be it in their home-made productions and even in their day to day broadcasts on the different channels.
They give the impression that there is no one who ensures a quality service or review what they put live.
A simple example, and repetitive one, is as shown below:

In the above picture, taken when one of the “preview” of a film was being broadcasted, you can cleary see that the film will be broadcasted on Sunday, at 21XXhrs, the XX mins display, being hidden by the LARGE mbc3 label.
Damn it! So, i will have to sit before the tv set from 2100hrs till 2159hrs to really know at what exact time it will start! This happens too often, too much!!!
hihi, and now 2 more pics…
Since 1 week, my sister and myself are alone at home since parents are not in Mauritius, so, everynight we either eat at my cousin’s place(next door) or like today and yesterday, we cooked ourselves at home.
Quite a disaster!
Yesterday, we planned to eat Chicken and at the end, we were left with a salty curry lol!
and more recent, some hours ago, we TRIED to cook some pasta, mixed with a “rougaille saucisse” since we had nothing else to put in it.

While cooking, all the “rougaille” was evaporated LOL! and we were left with fried and “over-cooked” sausage. As for the pasta, it was ok but since the last mins, my belly is making “glou-glou” lol, and tomorrow, i have a company event to go to, at Domaines Anse Jonchee :S

we were not only the victims, since both Neha and Deepa(cousines next door) were fortunate(???) to have been invited for dinner at our place for the last 2 days
lol, 1 more week to go like this!
practice makes perfect, so lets hope in some years, i can cook a bit better!
Did not really want to write any further posts on those competitions organised by our National Television, but, could not resist after that of today…

I will try to recap everthing which happenned….
I as quite surprised, as well as most of us watching it here at home, after the announcement of the voting results, the girl there started crying….

Come on, its only a miserable competition, no need to do as if u r on Sa Re Ga Ma Stage or any other famous competition…
lol, and guess what? She was crying, not because she lost, but because she won!
Initially all of us thought she was quite dissapointed!
Online SMS Display Messages
Nice innovation, live sms on your screen….
but quite unpleasant for their image, i agree they should display everything,
however, its not always nice!!!
Judges….
Lets talk about the choice of the judges there…
One in particular(to the right in the picture below)…

On his first appearance before the camera, he was unable to speak correctly before the camera (”ti p gaga”) and how is he going to mark the performance of the candidates???
Female Host, totally lost in her words!
Again, MBC has put 2 new female hosts, which are completely “amateurs” just like the one they put on “Hum Tum” Singing & Dancing Competition some months ago…
Today one of the female hosts talked nonsense at one instant (when there as a tie -candidates with same points )
She told approximately the following:
The first time something like this is happening here in this emission, you can send your sms to vote!lol,
In fact, at that instant she meant “You can send your sms to comment!”
That are the disadvantages of being live!
Orange Representatives
Orange, being the sponsor of this singing competition, its quite normal for their representatives to be there….
Just a small comment (since most of them being french or english, hence not understanding anything!):
Hey banne representants Oranges, attention zotte beze mangue labas!
Mentors

The concept of the mentors, was completely stolen from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
Be Original! At least prove you can be creative!
Time to leave u here, dont hesitate to add further comments below!

Articles, Blogging, General, Nomad, Technology, Web, myT April 25th, 2008
Hello,Ki dir?

More than 1 week already, “orange p vender partout”, but still, no response from the competitors, at least, nothing extraordinary in their business strategy from namely,
- Nomad
- Emtel
- MTML
- DCL
Except a small thing from Emtel, you can now epin ur mobile with only rs20, instead of rs25.

r for rabbit modem
I tried to access Nomad’s portal, but a big “Under Construction” Notice is there, dont know since when, lets hope its something really BIG for the few users still hanging out with their rabbit.c

d for dcl…
DCL Communications seems dormant since, euh, a long time, very long indeed!

goat for cabri l’inde…
As for MTML, its “Azu wireless broadband internet” is available since some weeks back but till now, there havent been any marketing done to attract potential customers, perhaps because they are not ready yet to handle many users and hence face the same problem which nomad faced with thousands(?) of ppl connected and the system breaking down day after day….really bad reputation they have here in Mauritius! lol

o for zorange…
Internet, Mobile, everything is being controlled by Orange, offering several offers ( mobile packs etc etc ) + innovations (new portal, magic numbers, etc etc) since its launch.
Will they be able to compete with the big multinational company orange?
Sure, the mauritian blog community and myself will be here to keep you updated about the events in our cyber island ( lol, cyber! )

About Me, Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, News, Web April 20th, 2008
After nearly 2years, i have revamped my web site, below are some screenshots…

I have also rewritten nearly all the text + added new stuff while removing other pages.
Any additional stuff that i may find interesting will be added in the Cool Stuff section, for example, simple articles showing you how to use any email add with msn messenger or how to compress a picture, the easiest way…

Innovations in this version:
- Use of lightbox script for image zooming
- minimal text as far as possible
- use of pictures to make the site more interesting…

Future works:
- use that banner (or another one )or a lighter version of the banner onto this blog
- use criticism from my friends and visitors to make the site better
- make a new intro banner, by replacing the existing one, dated 2 years back too!
Have a look now and do leave a message

Lets play Snakes!
About Me, Articles, Blogging, Fun, General, Technology April 11th, 2008
Level 19, thats where my cousin Neha and myself have reached till now, and seems that there is a long way to go before the end since it has 37 levels from what i read some mins ago.
Hey Neha!, 18 nivos encore ena pu aller la! lol !

Wikipedia says:
Snakes is an update to the classic Snake game from Nokia. It is freely downloadable from the Nokia N-Gage website, and can be copied to another N-Gage handset via Bluetooth. A new version is now available as an embedded game on most N-series smartphones from Nokia.

During our “narien a faire” time, we take turns to play, trying to reach the next levels, and just for tonight, we finished 4 levels i think.
The Queue level:

below, the “Double Cross” level,nice

Dont know when we will finish the game, but sometimes its really tough, especially the hex fields levels like below:

It can be downloaded from here or in many other sites, freely…

Does anyone of you play this game?
Which level u reached???
