Village, la ville….Ça continue!

Articles, General November 29th, 2006

After the debate about my previous post regarding “la ville & Village” and some interesting comments collected there, below is an extract of an article appearing in an issue of L’express.

village, laville2

«My parents don’t accept my boyfriend because he comes from a village»

My name is R and I am a 19 year old woman. The first time I met L, we fell immediately in love with each other. For eight months, we had the most wonderful relationship, he was sweet and caring, always there when I needed him.

Unfortunately my parents got to know that I was dating L and that he comes from a village. We were so much in love that we wanted to carry on regardless. It was mostly my mother who objected. My father did not care either way and we were hoping that one day we would look for his help to persuade my mother. Unfortunately, my mother found out that I was still dating L despite her objections.

My father then decided to sort things out and agreed to meet L in my presence. When my father asked him where he has decided to live after we marry, L said that he was going to live in his village at his parents’ place. My father tried to dissuade him from that idea. When he asked me what I thought, I said that I agreed with my father and we should live in town and also because of the possibility of relational problems between his parents and me.

He became very angry and told me that he did not love me any more. His parents heard what had happened and told him that my family was not worth the bother. He even told me to check where my next boyfriend lives before going out with him. What should I do? Wait for him or move on. I love him with all my heart, please help me.

Well, its sure that despite living in a modern world, some people havent yet removed this perception that ‘villages are inferior to towns.’

One thing for sure, i advise everyone that the next time they gonna fall in luv with someone, please have a look at either the student pass or a CEB/CWA bill before deciding on anything… This will help a lot !

About Me, Blogging, Fun, General, Leisure, News November 24th, 2006

The semester has finally come to an end!

cse

For sure, the semester was not so easy going with those assignments but it was much nicer than in Year 2!
But the coming days are not going to be so cool as

  • Big final year project to work on
  • Assignments
  • Revision for a test scheduled in first week of next semester
  • Some web site re-design for that of www.rikonplus.com and also
  • Update my personal web site which has been left abandoned since beginning of semester!

Apart from that, hope that i can at least go for a mountain climbing wiz friends… and among some of the plans already organised, we gonna to the seaside on the coming thursday
also i hope that i can pass some time wiz my only one
Happy Holidays to myself and to all my friends

but still one last semester to go & then, for sure, am gonna miss that uni life!

Aston

Fun, General, Technology November 21st, 2006

Before going any further, let me tell you that we are not talking about the Aston Martin that Our PM has bought…
Here, am talking about the Aston Shell

What is It?
It replaces the standard Windows Desktop and provides you with a host of new features, such as Sidebars, clock, weather monitor, animated buttons, transparency effects, allows you to change Window’s appearance and functionality. Aston is very stable and has a small memory footprint and low CPU usage, so you can free your processor time for other tasks.

Ya, all of these are true! I checked them out!

its soooooooo goodddddddd!

U can change your desktop’s appearance in secs from a normal Windows Interface, to that of KDE (Linux) or even MacOS…
You can customize almost everything.
There are even side menus on the desktop with lots of shortcuts!
The Graphics is astonishing and the plugins? lol, so many of them!

It runs extra fast and does not consume much processing power.

U can download a trial version from its web site. Hundreds of themes and plugins can be downloaded from there itself to customize your pc!

I havent found any inconvenience with it till now since u can choose if u want to use default windows or the aston desktop when u log on into ur pc…
Other users may wish to use Windows whenever they want.
Well, i let you enjoy some of the themes i tried…

Aston Default

Aston 1

KDE

Aston KDE

MacOS

Aston MacOs

Techno Theme

Aston Techno

Windows Vista

Aston Vista

Wont u have a try?

Do leave what u think about this aston shell
